Larry David LABLANC, 72 of Almena, Wisconsin died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at The Gathering in Oak Park Heights, Minnesota. He was born July 7, 1939 in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin the son of Ovillio and Jesse (Huberty) LABLANC. He grew up in Clayton, graduating from Clayton High School. On September 26, 1959 Larry married Lily Rhodes at New Scandinavia Lutheran Church in Maple Grove Township.
He went to work for Koser Silo Works and was employed there for twenty-six years. Larry then worked for Twin Town Cheese Factory retiring in 2005. He enjoyed tractor and truck pulls and going to the races. Larry also liked to hunt and fish.
He was a member at Bethany Lutheran Church until it closed and most recently Arland Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife Lily LaBlanc of Almena, WI; Sons: Glenn (Darcy) LaBlanc of Prairie Farm, WI; Mike (Jolese) LaBlanc of Clayton, WI; Dale (Ava) LaBlanc of Turtle Lake, WI; Daughters: Roxy (Todd Hunt) LaBlanc of Rice Lake, WI; Becky (Randy) Burdick of Lindstrom, MN; 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, Kenny (Jeanette) LaBlanc (brother) of Clayton, WI. Many nieces, nephews & cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father John Dudas, his sister Elaine Andress, 2 brothers Merwin & Stanley LaBlanc.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at Rausch & Steel Funeral Home in Barron with Pastor Jenny Elliot officiating. Visitation will be held at Rausch & Steel Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 P.M.
